It's Wintertime again in Spruce Hollow and the whole village is looking forward to celebrating the Holidays and getting ready for the Annual Spruce Hollow Holiday Concert! Kindergartner Felicity Fox loves music more than anything in the world. Music lessons are the only thing on her wish list this year. Singing at home alone in her room is her favorite activity- a hairbrush makes a great pretend mic! There's just one problem- she loses her voice (and nerve) whenever she has to speak in front of a crowd, to grown ups or answer questions in class. Hi There! And thank you for visiting my Author Page and supporting my books! My name is Cheryl Farnsworth aka Cheri to friends and family.
I moved recently with my husband and mini schnauzer DASH to New Hampshire, which is sort of what inspired my creation of RODNEY’S BIG MOVE (book one in the new series Tales from Spruce Hollow) Moving is never easy whether you are young or just young at heart, and Rodney Raccoon also has to contend with leaving his best friend behind AND beginning kindergarten; tough circumstances that are common for children everywhere.
My professional life also inspired my two books and the one I am currently writing.
I have been an educator for 24 years. My love affair with reading and words inspired me to seek an M.Ed. as a Literacy Specialist and I have worked in both middle and elementary schools helping students learn to read and learn to LOVE reading.

Learning Extension for Aardvarks to Zebras
“Once you have read the book with your child several times, extend the learning and fun by choosing an alphabet letter of the week. Make it a game as you and your child “hunt” for items that begin with that letter. For example, the letter R. All week you look for items at the store, park, daycare, wherever. Perhaps in the grocery store you walk over to produce and pick up some radishes. Say the word RADISH, ask your child to say it. (Pictures count too! Perhaps you come across a picture of a ROOSTER. )
